The Beginnings of the Ringtone
The first ringtones that were available for your cell phone were called monophonic tones. These were songs that could only use one tone at a time to play the song. Eventually that gave way to the polyphonic ringtone which was a huge improvement over the monophonic tones.
These tones could play something that resembled music and had an ability to play up to sixteen sounds at a time. These gave way to the ringtones that we hear today and are the result of combining the mp3 format with cell phones. This allows the user to download and use actual music for their ringtone on their cell phone.
It was once the case that the ringtone on your phone was there for the purpose of letting you know when you had a phone call. Today, the ringtones on your phone mean so much more than that.
Today’s ringtone is a status symbol and a way of displaying your taste and style. It is also a way to bring attention to yourself and show that you are a trendy and stylish person if you have the latest ringtone. Many people decide to download a unique tone so that they can tell the sound of their own phone ringing in a crowd.
This created an entire industry of businesses that are providing these ringtones for cell phone users. Many people realized early on how much of an opportunity existed in these ringtones.
The first company to design a ringtone that could be downloaded onto a cell phone was through a Finland mobile phone company. Up until they had done this the only tones that you had available were the ones that came with your phone. This company found a way to develop a ring tone in a format that could be downloaded from the Internet onto a cell phone.
This was the beginning before the monophonic tones were introduced. Most people found these ringtones a little boring in the beginning and that is why the polyphonic tones were created.
These tones were such an improvement over the monophonic tones that it actually sounded more like actual music. This led to the polyphonic tones being included on every cell phone that was available on the market at that time.
The biggest leap occurred when actual music had the ability to be put on a cell phone and used for a ring tone. This allowed the cell phone user to choose any type of music that they wanted and download it on to their cell phone and use them for ringtones. When this happened the devices soon came with the ability to record and play music as well.
This advancement led to people having an increased interest in having these ringtones on their phone. It became popular for everyone to put the music that they liked on their phones and create a distinct style that was theirs alone. This caused the cell phone industry and especially the ringtone industry to explode.
As we watch the evolution of the ringtone into the current incarnation, we are sure that there will be better and better capabilities of our cell phones and the tones that we use to alert us to phone calls.
Each and every cell phone manufacturer is trying to find a way to introduce a better cell phone and capture the attention of the market. This gives the consumers a wide variety of choice when it comes to their cell phones and the music that is played on them.
Ringtones
Dedicate this to all the niggas on the streets
Niggas in the hood strugglin
Doin what the fuck they gotta do to make their money
And all the thugs, the hustlas, the gangstas, the playas, pimps
Let’s roll, let’s roll
(Ghetto love, ghetto love I can feel that ghetto love, ghetto love)
(Krayzie) x2
Street people
(People)
All my people be them niggas with an attitude
(We’re ready for war)
The street mentality: it’s do what you gotta do
(Do what you gotta do)
(Krayzie)
I dedicate this to the niggas in the hood
(Where they at? Where they at? Where they at?)
Keepin it real on the street
Niggas they practice what they preach, stayin true until they D-I-E
Niggas still strong
We keep on bailin through the stress
and all the rest of the shit that’s goin on
Speakin of violence, I see, you got to keep a pistol
Cause if niggas think you’re rich, you gon be got, they out to pinch ya
Bullshit you not–killin’ because of the pump
And it drives us to the point of no return
Especially when you’re gone off of the sherm
You could give a fuck about a nigga flossin
While you walkin, he on sixteen switches
Ain’t that a bitch? But that’s life
This shit ain’t nothin’ nice, and he’ll take yours if his ain’t right
And I can’t stop ‘em or knock ‘em, but yo, I wouldn’t even try, though
Cause Bible say, “Hey, either repent or you will die”
So (so, so), choose one (just one)
Either repent and get saved
Or put some food on your table for now
(Chorus)x2
Street people
(People)
All my people be them niggas with an attitude
(We’re ready for war)
The street mentality
It’s do what you gotta do
(Do what you gotta do)
Krayzie & (Niko)
I see my sisters out there hustlin, man (strugglin, man)
Do what it takes, but that’s the brakes, rustle up what you can
Gotta feed your babies (babies, yeah)
Handle yourself your own business
don’t wait on that nigga to get you nothin
We been poor long enough, and I know you would scheme on somethin
(somethin, yeah) Take the welfare, fuck it!
The system givin it to you, cause it’s guilt on they conscience
Don’t let ‘em fool you (don’t let ‘em fool you, no)
Really ain’t doin’ a nigga any favors
So come and get the paper, paper, before you die, die
This verse is for my ghetto queens
Tryin’ to come up and get them better things
particularly cheddar cheese
Make that money (make that money)
Work, work, work
Whatever your occupation
As long as you bringin home the bacon, bacon, bacon
Don’t let your enemy lock your mind, too
And I hope y’all really been payin attention cause it’s 1999, ohh
(Ooh-ooh, yeah)
Though people comin around, we gon’ thug
So where the thugs at?
Gimme some of that ghetto love (ghetto love)
(Chorus)x2
Krayzie & (Niko)
Now if y’all feelin me
let’s get down and tear the roof off the mother
Shoot the mmotherfuckers, I’m serious and mean business
Ready to pump pump and ride, you with it?
Come on, put it out there, pump, pump, pump police
They treat us like animals - let’s attack ‘em like beasts
But hold on ‘fore you start fightin (hold on, hold on)
Let’s brighten up the action scene, pass me the gasoline
(no more, no more) I’m really not trippin on this rappin no more
Cause I know it won’t last too much longer
When it’s over, then I be a full-time soldier (I told you)
If I make it out of the game with all my sanity
Get paid, fuck the fame, get out quickly, understand me?
Cause at the rate I’m goin, pretty soon they’ll try to ban me
for killin these muthafuckas tryin to tamper with my family
Now they got me runnin’ from these po-po’s tryin to jam me
But I told them muthafuckas not to try to test my manly
And this is my mentality for fuckin with the street life, street life
(street life)
(Chorus)x2
(Niko)
I gotta give it up to all my thugstas, we’re street people
Them niggas with an attitude
Let’s stop the killin, we’re strugglin just like you to make a livin
We’re not pretendin, don’t y’all remember?
It ain’t easy tryin to stay alive, some people out there smokin crack
My people workin 9 to 5, just doin’ it right
Real strong
Hold on
cause it won’t be long before the strugglin’ days is long gone
Hold on, be strong
(Krayzie)x2
Somebody better ‘em we the T-H-U-G’s

You’re Gorgeous Lyrics
You wrote ‘You’re Gorgeous’ on it.
You took me to your rented motor car and filmed me on the bonnet.
You got me to hitch my knees up and pulled my legs apart.
You took an instamatic camera and and pulled my sleeves around my heart.
Because you’re gorgeous I’d do anything for you.
Because you’re gorgeous our love will see us through.
Because you’re gorgeous I’d do anything for you.
Because you’re gorgeous I know you’ll get me through.
You said my clothes were sexy, you tore away my shirt.
You rubbed an ice-cube on my chest snapped me ’til it hurt.
Because you’re gorgeous I’d do anything for you.
Because you’re gorgeous our love will see us through.
Because you’re gorgeous I’d do anything for you.
Because you’re gorgeous I know you’ll get me through.
Ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba
You said I wasn’t cheap. You paid me twenty pounds.
You promised to put me in a magazine on every table in every lounge.
Because you’re gorgeous I’d do anything for you.
Because you’re gorgeous our love will see us through.
Because you’re gorgeous I’d do anything for you.
Because you’re gorgeous our love will see us through.
Because you’re gorgeous I know you’ll get me through. I know you’ll get me through.

Pub Rock Coma Lyrics
And bang your head against the radio
More new useless also-rans;
Single of the Week! Big In Japan! And Thailand.
Look inside these rich and idle lives -
Aren’t you glad to be on the outside?
The it-boys and it-girls and in-roads and incest
There really is not much happening of interest

Unfoolish Lyrics
* The Notorious B.I.G. lyrics in this song are actually from
“Fuck You Tonight” off the _Life After Death_ double-LP.
[Chorus: Ashanti and (Notorious B.I.G.) ]
See, my days are cold without you (Here’s another one)
But I’m hurtin’ while I’m with you (And another one)
And though my heart can’t take no more
I can’t keep runnin’ back to you
See, my days are cold without you (Here’s another one)
But I’m hurtin’ while I’m with you (And another one)
And though my heart can’t take no more (Uh)
I can’t keep runnin’ back to you (Uh, uh, uh)
(Here’s another one, what)
[Ashanti]
I think about my strength to finally get up and leave
No more broken heart for me
No more tellin’ your lies to me (And another one)
I’m lookin’ like I got my head on right, so now I see
No more givin’ you everything
There’s no more takin’ my love from me
[Chorus]
[Ashanti]
I’m glad to wake up every day without you on my brain (Uh)
No more where you’re laid up at night
No more havin’ to fuss and fight
I’m proud to say (And another one)
That I will never make (And another one) the same mistake
No more thinkin’ bout what you do
There’s no more me runnin’ back to you
[Chorus]
[Notorious B.I.G.]
Some say the X, make the sex
Spec-tacular, make me lick you from ya neck
To yo back, then ya, shiverin’, tongue deliverin’
Chills up that spine, that ass is mine
Skip the wine and the candlelight, no Cristal tonight
If it’s alright with you, we fuckin’ (That’s cool)
Deja vu, the blunts sparked, finger fuckin’ in the park
Pissy off Bacardi Dark
Remember when I used to play between yo legs
You begged for me to stop because you know where it would head
Straight to yo mother’s bed
At the Mariott, we be lucky if we find a spot
Next to yo sister, damn I really missed the
Way she used to rub my back, when I hit that
Way she used to giggle when yo ass would wiggle
Now I know you used to suites at the Parker Meridian
Trips to the Carribean, but tonight, no ends
[Ashanti]
You must be used to me cryin’, cryin’
While you’re out bumpin’ and grindin’ (And another one)
But I’m leavin’ you tonight
See, my days are cold without you
But I’m hurtin’ while I’m with you
And though my heart can’t take no more
I can’t keep running back to you
You must be used to me cryin’, cryin’ (Uh, and another one)
While you’re out bumpin’ and grindin’
But I’m leavin’ you tonight (Uh, and another one
